Encouraging Progress
Dick Jacobs is a
retired missionary who had worked for many years in Tagbana area
with his wife and children. They came back in October for a visit
to see how things were and found it very encouraging, despite the
fact that this is rebel territory since the war split the country
in 2002. The translator has been holding reading classes in lots of
villages. Along with the FCBH programme and proclaimers provided by
BSNI and other Bible Society donors, the people are being
prepared for the day when the Bible will be finally printed and
distributed. The photo shows Dick Jacobs handing me the box of
corrected page proofs for the Tagnana Bible. Our secretary, Janvier is shown too. Below Mrs Jacobs and I
can be seen examining the proofs.
"All that remains to do is
for me to insert the corrections for the page proofs on the pages and in
the computer files so that the typesetter can finally produce
a printable copy. This is a very challenging task and I
really need to be alert, accurate and persevering, so that I don't
add any other errors!" Margaret
Give thanks for the encouraging
progress that is evident in terms of literacy. Praise God that
people are making themselves ready to welcome God's Word.

Credit Crunch...
The Bible Society in
Cote d'Ivoire have been experiencing a big drop on sales
of Bibles and donations with the inevitable result in late payment
of salaries! Margaret was recently the
representative for Bible Sunday, I sold the huge amount of one
Bible, one copy of the handy Bible for kids and the pupil's
manual for Keeping the Word of God in my heart, plus a few
Lifewords brochures. And that was over two services!
In this time of poor economy,
we are all feeling the pinch but when wages just don't come through
because business is slow, staff are in a difficult position.
Please pray for this practical need, that God will provide
for and encourage Margaret and the team.
