Kirundi Study Bible Translation
The Kirundi language is spoken by everyone in Burundi. The first Bible in this language was published in 1967, and has since been revised. This new revision is being published this year. Most people who use the Bible in Burundi speak and read Kirundi only.
Christians, Pastors and Church Leaders continuously request a Kirundi Study Bible from the Bible Society in Burundi, to help them in their understanding of the Scriptures and to help them communicate it to others.
This request is being answered and the Bible Society has started a Kirundi Study Bible translation using the current Kirundi revised version as the Bible text. Started in May 2010, it is hoped that the project will take a maximum of 7 years to complete. The team is made up of two full time translators and two part time translators – who are helped by a Translation Consultant who visits the team twice a year.
Please Pray…
Pray for the translation team and their families, that God would protect them and bless them with good health.
