Victims of Conflict – Scriptures for Children of Families displaced by War

Distribution in GeorgiaFollowing the Russian-Georgian war in August 2008, thousands of families were displaced and have ended up in hastily-built inadequate collective centres in Georgia. These new refugees have added to the many thousands of internally displaced people already in the country from previous conflicts, and most will never be able to return home. Over 5,000 children in the families displaced in 2008 are still suffering greatly from the recent traumatic changes they have endured; they left all their possessions behind when they fled and there is no money to replace what they once had. The Bible Society in Georgia wants to show support for this group of young people by distributing children's Bibles suitable for each age group and sharing the power of Jesus' love for each of them.

Please Pray…
Pray for God's comfort for all refugees and displaced persons. Pray that they keep hope in their hearts and that faith will comfort them in their unhappiness.
