Baoule Bible Revision and Study Notes

Baoule Bible translatorsBaoule people are the major ethnic group in Côte d'Ivoire, with a population of over 4 million people. They are scattered throughout the territory and many Christians in various denominations are Baoule speakers. The level of literacy in Baoule is one of the highest in national languages.

This project aims at,
• strengthening the evangelization of the Baoule people,
• increasing the number of Bible readers in this language,
• bringing people to a more intimate relationship with God.

This will be done through,
• the revision of existing translated texts,
• the harmonization of certain theological and liturgical terms (so as to make them accepted by all churches),
• the drafting of study notes,
• All this will be accompanied by the reinvigoration of the functional literacy programme and awareness on the reading of the Baoule Bible.

Pray for the raising of additional funds for the purchase of computers for the Translation team.
