Moore Bible Translation

The Moore language is spoken by 5,000,000 people in Burkina Faso and by a non negligible portion of people living in the nearby countries. This language is frequently used on TV, on radio, in churches and in Bible Schools. Many associations including the Bible Society are implementing literacy programmes on the Moore language, and the government is promoting this language in schools.

The Moore Bible that was translated in 1983, and is still currently used, has a lot of translation mistakes and the spelling is outdated. The Bible Society in Burkina Faso is working to translate and to update the spelling of the 1983 Bible, and to support and equip evangelical churches with tools for evangelism and spiritual growth.
This translation project will allow a better understanding of the Holy Scriptures among the most Christianised ethnic group in Burkina Faso.

Pray for those in Burkina Faso who do not yet have a Bible they understand. Pray that they will soon be able to read God’s Word and truly understand God’s message through it.
