West Balkan Partnership

Reaching out to Muslim Neighbours

The West Balkan Partnership of Bible Societies brings together teams in Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia. The Balkan region has one of the largest Muslim populations in Europe with some countries constituting a majority; while other Balkan countries are strongly affected by their neighbours and by different ethnic Muslim groups who are growing from strong emigration in the region.

This project seeks to encourage Christians to take a more proactive and positive attitude towards their Muslim neighbours through,
• Producing and distributing Scriptures for specific Muslim cultures,
• Motivating and equipping church workers, through the provision of training and resources for young Christian workers from all the Balkan countries representing different Christian traditions,
• Strengthening relationships with local Churches,
• Building a supportive network of Bible engagement activists within local churches that are already active in Bible mission.
