Albanian Interconfessional Old Testament Translation

Altin and ManjolaAlbania experienced 50 years of Communist regime and for a long time people were not permitted to translate the Bible. It wasn’t until 2007 that a successful translation of the New Testament in Albanian was completed and people were finally able to read God’s Word in their own language.
There is now a demand for the translation of the Old Testament into Albanian. The Bible Society is working, with the full and authorized participation of all the churches (Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant), to provide an interconfessional translation of the Old Testament in Albanian.
It is at the heart of the Interconfessional Bible Society of Albania to make available the Word of God to all people. Supporting this project will help the team to translate the whole Bible in a language that is understandable to today's people and will give more opportunities to reach out to those without faith.

Please pray...
Pray that God will give wisdom to the Bible Society while they prepare trial editions of the translation, and pray that there will be a good reception of these editions from the people of Albania.
