Mission Mama Project

This year ‘Women’s World Day of Prayer’ is focusing on Malaysia, and to celebrate this the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) has made 2012 the ‘Year of Women’. With a special focus on women and young children BSM is launching a ‘Mission Mama Project’…

According to the 2000 census, more and more women are working full time. Many of them also have children and may find it hard to balance the demands of their domestic and professional lives. And women who are full-time mothers can sometimes question their vocation. Whatever their circumstances, many women face emotional pressure and need spiritual guidance.

The ‘Mission Mama Project’ seeks to engage and empower women with young children through helping them to engage with Scripture. Women and Children Resource Centres will be set up to serve as facilities for the research and development of creative Scripture-based literacy and Bible engagement resources and programmes. These centres will provide a safe and welcoming environment for women to learn how to use Scripture materials and for them to be guided on how best to teach their children with the educational materials provided.
