Kurdish Old Testament Translation
The Kurdish community within Turkey received the first Scripture in their mother tongue in 2005. Once forbidden to speak their language, these people could now read the New Testament for the first time. Then in 2009 the New Testament with Psalms was published, and thousands of books were distributed. Following from that the Bible Society in Turkey worked in partnership with Hosanna and the Dramatized Audio New Testament was created – BSNI was pleased to be able to help with the cost of distributing these. Having these resources available to them has helped to increase the demand for the complete Bible in Kurdish.
The Bible Society in Turkey is working to translate the Old Testament into Kurdish, and hope to have it completed by 2014.
Please pray…
Thank God that the translation work is going so well. There are only 7 books left to translate and the first draft of the Old Testament will be finished!
