Ecumenical Old Testament Translation
The Bible Society in Poland (BSP) believes that people need to have the Bible text in a version they can easily read and understand. Despite the numerous activities of the churches, Poland is living in a very secular society, and so BSP feels it is their duty to provide an accessible and contemporary edition of the Bible so that it can help people to discover it as a source of positive values and love.
The Bible translations currently being used are from as far back as the 16th and 17th century, and the language is no longer understandable for most people. BSP is working to translate the Bible text into an easier to understand language. The Ecumenical Translation was started in the early 90’s, and the New Testament was published in 2001. BSP are now working to translate the Old Testament to complete the Ecumenical Complete Bible.
Please pray...
Pray that God would give the people wisdom and good will, that they would not only read His Word, but also live according to it.
